The Meridian G01 is a fully-integrated analogue control unitwhich includes a sensitive AM/FM RDS/RDBS tuner. It is an ideal complement forthe G Series power amplifiers and is particularly suited to those who wish tomaintain an analogue signal path at the very highest quality of reproduction. Product/G01 Control Although Meridian is today best-known for its digitalcircuitry, it is a company built on analogue roots, and indeed, superb analoguecircuit design and implementation are important parts of all Meridian products, whether their inputs and outputs are analogue or digital. The G01 rests, therefore, on over a quarter of a century ofMeridianís experience in the design and manufacture of exquisite-soundinganalogue hi-fi components and systems. Including both a preamplifier andcontroller, the G01 stereo control unit provides no less than seven stereoanalogue inputs plus an AM/FM tuner. The inputs are nominally designated Aux, CD, TV, Tape, Disc(turntable), DVD and VCR (though these designations can be changed). The disc input can be factory-configured for either movingcoil or moving magnet cartridge operation: order the unit with the appropriatestereo input module. A front-panel volume knob (press to mute) activates aspecially-designed dual differentially-balanced volume control circuit. Thisensures perfect stereo tracking and full frequency range performance at allvolume levels.
